RIP: Subgroups on #LinkedIn

I will miss subgroups on LinkedIn.

On Friday I asked the Help Desk what happened to them. Their Sunday post-mortem comment:

Hi Marc

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I’m sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. My name is Adam and I’ll be assisting you.

Yes, all subgroups are now independent groups. This eliminates the need to belong to the main group in order to join and view content.

I know how disappointing this is and agree that subgroups added value. For that reason, I will be sure to pass your comments along to our Product Specialists and Engineers for review. We are always making changes to enhance the member experience and feedback on those changes lets us know what is working and what is not working.

If you have additional feedback or suggestions, I would be happy to get them to the proper team for review.

Warm regards,

Consumer Support Specialist

Adam and LinkedIn, nice work on a speedy reply, but news of the elimination of subgroups escaped me and others.

Another good idea bit the dust.

Advance notice next time, please?
