There is little need to wish a LinkedIn connection a happy birthday IMHO.
OK, call me a curmudgeon.
I can take it.
Now I found a way to stop seeing them in the first place!
- Click your Notifications tab in the teal green stripe at the top of the LinkedIn web page.
- Scan downward for a notification that someone is having a birthday and in the right corner you will see 3 horizontal dots. Click the dots.
- You will see a pop-up asking you if you want to stop seeing birthdays, which I enthusiastically clicked!
- Poof. Gone.
No more distraction.
I still will see work anniversaries, and other newsy items, which I deem to be much more appropriate to congratulate and/or comment on in a business social medium like LinkedIn.
And other notifications can be deleted, left as is, or reinstated:
To reinstate, refresh your Notifications page. then look in the top left corner of your Notifications page, click Edit then simply move the switch to the opposite side (back to”on”).
It’s your choice.
Now you know.
