You were part of an experiment; did you notice?

radarDid you notice?

Probably not, but that’s OK.

I didn’t post a blog entry this past Wednesday. That’s indicative of the barrage of electronic media we face today: it comes at you, but you do usually do not notice when it doesn’t.

No one inquired where my blog post was that day. That’s fine. I was making you part of a social media experiment…But I won’t make it a habit.

The parallel I am drawing to you is that you need to appear in front of your LinkedIn connections regularly, perhaps not daily, but often, to be remembered. Or else you vanish from their memory.

And then when they need to find you, it’s harder for them as you haven’t “pinged” on their radar screen. They may refer that piece of business to someone else out of inability to recall or find you.

So ping away! As often as you can, add value and substance to others. Share articles, insights, ideas. They will appreciate what you add, but not miss you if you don’t.
