Big week; make the most of it

futureWe just lost an hour to Daylight Savings Time.

Claim it back with some special activities.

This week has many events that are noteworthy:

Today is Pi Day. Math nerds, have a blast. Eat pie. Fun article here.

Tuesday: if you follow politics in the USA, you probably already know I have been critiquing the (remaining) presidential candidates on their usage of LinkedIn. Though Rubio’s people are just awakening to the potential to communicate to business pros on LinkedIn, they may be way too late. We shall see. Cruz and Trump are asleep on LinkedIn. On the other side of the aisle, Sanders is still snoozing too. And Clinton continues to rock LinkedIn. Oh yes, there are also decisive primaries: Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, Northern Marianas (obscure news to me–Republican caucuses only there), and (drumroll) Florida and Ohio. Beware the ides of March, Rubio and Kasich.

Wednesday is quiet. Good we need it. Take 10 minutes to review just one section of your LinkedIn profile during a webinar, conf call, privately, secretly in a meeting (yes, I know you do!) And it’s Purim, a minor Jewish holiday, so go ahead, get a little silly.

Thursday is St Patrick’s Day. Did you know they dye the river green in Chicago?  There are  parades everywhere, so many will take the day to get extremely hydrated.

Friday is the First Annual Awkward Moments Day. I didn’t make that up…so help prevent awkward moments on LinkedIn. Be sure you know and admire everyone on your LinkedIn connection list. Never get in a spot where someone says to you: “I see you are connected to know Bob Z.  I know him. What a small world. How do you know him?” And then you realize you connected to him for no real reason, he just asked and you looked at his public profile, and clicked ok. Now you feel like a promiscuous (love that word) linker. Awkward moments can be avoided. Cull out the connections you do not know well or never met and vetted…Friday is the day.

Have a great week.

I like quiet….sometimes…but Wednesday in NYC appears not for that.
