On #LinkedIn we birds of a feather need to flock together

Do you turkey2strut your stuff on LinkedIn, or do you look and sound like a turkey?

Today I attended a networking breakfast and the icebreaker was for the attendees to speak 2 minutes about themselves.

The usual turkeys gave us an oral self-history of their voyage to today. Same old, same old. Mental shut down. Others’ faces buried in smartphones.

The strutters found the right voice and tone to articulate their value proposition and differentiators from the competition. Not ego-centered, but honest. Riveting and thought-provoking. Humorous with rich wording.

One seasoned strutter who did a really great verbal job agreed with me that what he said orally in 2 minutes should be transcribed into an effective Summary section on his LinkedIn profile. Oh yeah!

I choose to roost with the strutters.
