#LinkedIn better evens the playing field

Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking to a conference of HR execs and recruiters about best practices using LinkedIn.

One of my themes was that LinkedIn evens the playing field between company and recruit, interviewer and interviewee, and when used effectively and intelligently, can lead to a much more valuainterviewble hiring experience, before, during and after the “courting” process.

The more each party shares about its core values and “why they do what they do,” as I like to say, the better the whole process goes and efficiencies would benefit all.

This theme was also echoed by one of the keynoters, @Gerry Crispin, with whom I was pleased to share observations after his talk. We exchanged business cards and agreed to connect on LinkedIn as we share similar viewpoints for future discussion. connect2collaborate, right?

I noticed this on the back of his card:

Bio: Life-long student of Staffing. I seek the playing fields where employers tout their latest opportunities and candidates game the rules.

Nuff said.
